In addition to the standard X-Bolt features like the 60-degree bolt throw, detachable magazines, and the 8-screw optics base attachment system, Browning adds lightweight features including:

• Spiral barrel fluting for reduced weight and improved barrel cooling
• spiral fluting on the bolt body for easier operation while fouled and further weight reduction
• a sporter profile barrel
• a lightweight carbon-fiber stock
• a picatinny rail bipod mount w/ sling stud
• a Recoil Hawg muzzle brake for recoil control

The muzzle is threaded underneath the brake with a 5/8×24 thread pitch in suppressor attachment is desired.
