This limited edtion Colt Government Model 1911 pays tribute to three American icons: the bald eagle, Mount Rushmore, and the Colt 1911. The polished blue base is overlayed with an engraving of Mt. Rushmore on the right side of the slide, and a bald eagle in flight on the left side, all inlayed with 24k gold. The hammer, barrel bushing, magazine release, manual safety, grip screws, takedown pin and Colt’s famous prancing pony are also plated in 24k gold. All of this on the most well-known American service pistol; seeing use as the standard American military sidearm for 75 years and seeing limited use even today, over 110 years after its introduction. This pistol is a part of a limited run of 500.
